Draxxin Antiobiotic for Cattle and Swine

Each ml of Draxxin® contains 100 mg of Tulathromycin which is used for the treatment and prevention of certain diseases in both cattle and swine.

In beef and non-lactating dairy cattle, the active ingredient Tulathromycin controls and treats three specific conditions:

(1) Bovine respiratory disease (BRD) associated with Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Histophilus somni, and Mycoplasma bovis.
(2) Infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis (IBK) associated with Moraxella bovis.
(3) Foot Rot associated with Fusobacterium necrophorum and Porphyromonas levii.

In suckling calves, dairy calves, and veal calves, Draxxin® injectable solution is indicated for the treatment of BRD associated with M. haemolytica, P. multocida, H. somni, and M. bovis.

In swine, Draxxin® is highly effective for the treatment of swine respiratory disease (SRD) caused by Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Haemophilus parasuis, and Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae and for the control of SRD associated with Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida, and Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae.

Withdrawal period for cattle is 18 days while for swine it's 5 days. A withdrawal period has not been established for this product in pre-ruminating calves.

  • Store at or below 25°C (77°F)
  • Do not administer more than 10 ml SQ per injection site in cattle
  • Do not administer more than 5 ml IM per injection site in swine.
  • Not to be used in female dairy cattle 20 months of age or older.
  • Not to be used in calves scheduled for veal processing.
